When Willie O'Ree entered the National Hockey League in 1958, he changed the game for many aspiring hockey players across North America.
Now, O'Ree continues his hard work with children, spreading the message of the NHL's newest campaign, "Hockey is for Everyone." The campaign raises money for hockey programs across the country, as well as teaching children through sponsored clinics how to play and learn the game.
O'Ree recently visited the Community Charter School of Cambridge to share his journey and his message to inspire young children to follow their dreams.
"The nice thing about it is, we're giving these boys and girls the chance to play a sport they never had the opportunity to play before," O'Ree said.
