The two collided, Rondo came away with the ball and promptly dished it to Glen Davis, who hit an easy layup to give Boston a four-point lead.
Anthony, however, didn’t get up, as he took what looked like an inadvertent elbow to the face. To make matters worse, Rondo backpedaled right over Anthony on his way back down the court.
Anthony received attention from the trainers and returned to the game but ultimately had to sit out. When asked after the game if he thought a foul should have been called, his answer was … well, that’s not exactly clear.
“I mean, the way they was calling, it ain’t no telling,” Anthony told reporters in the Knicks’ locker room. “So I don’t know. I can’t really answer that.”

If Anthony was complaining about the refs, he doesn’t have much of a case. He led all players with eight free-throw attempts (hitting seven of them), and the refs made a good non-call when, earlier in the game, his elbow made light contact with Davis’ head, who promptly collapsed to the floor in a fruitless effort to draw a foul.
Also, Ray Allen was elbowed in the head by Jared Jeffries. Allen was bleeding profusely on the floor and got seven stitches, though no foul was called on Jeffires.
But hey, the way they was calling, it just ain’t no telling. You said it, Carmelo.
