FORT MYERS, Fla. — The first meeting between the Red Sox and Yankees features a Boston lineup lacking star power against a New York crew loaded with muscle.

With a split-squad day lined up for Saturday, most of the Red Sox starters stayed behind in Fort Myers. Many of them will play at home against Florida at 1:05 p.m., while some may make the trip to Sarasota to take on Baltimore.

Jason Varitek, who has started five games in his major league career in the cleanup spot during the regular season, will bat fourth against Yankees starter Bartolo Colon. Darnell McDonald, who is batting leadoff, and Jed Lowrie, the No. 3 hitter and the first baseman for this one, are the only other players in the starting lineup who figure to be on the eventual 25-man roster.

Daniel Nava, who is wearing jersey No. 95 due to a uniform snafu, will bat fifth and serve as the designated hitter. Shortstop Jose Iglesias makes his first start of the spring and bats ninth.

New York leads things off with Derek Jeter, followed by Russell Martin and then a whole bunch of thunder. Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, Robinson Cano and Jorge Posada are the next four hitters in the lineup, which will contend with Clay Buchholz to start things off.

Here are the complete lineups for both teams:
