Red Sox Fans Donate More Than $4,600 for Japan Disaster Relief During Red Sox-Yankees Game

Red Sox fans combined for more than $4,600 in donations for the Japan relief fund which was organized before the matchup against the Yankees on Monday evening.

Red Sox pitchers Daisuke Matsuzaka, Hideki Okajima, Junichi Tazawa and Itsuki Shoda were all on hand at the gates in front of City of Palms Park to collect donations from fans entering the park. The Red Sox Foundation has already donated $50,000 to the effort.

Fans can continue to help the Red Sox raise funds for disaster relief through the foundation website, or via mail by sending a check to:
