Tiger Woods and his new 22-year-old girlfriend may have only been dating for just a short while, but they happen to have an extensive history — one that dates back to when Alyse Lahti Johnston was just a little girl.
As it turns out, Johnston’s stepfather, Alastair Johnston, has lived next door to Woods in Windermere, Fla., and when his stepdaughter was a young girl, she would give Woods crayon drawings before golf tournaments for good luck, according to the Daily Mail.
”Tiger Woods has been my next door neighbor for 15 years, and Alyse has known him all her life,” Johnston said to the Scottish Sun newspaper.
Not only is Johnston neighbors with Woods, but he is also an executive at Woods’ sports agency, IMG, according to ABC News. He was reportedly behind Woods’ $60 million Nike endorsement when the golfer was just 20 years old.
Not only has Woods new girlfriend known him since she idolized him as a young girl, but she was also reportedly close friends with Elin Nordegren before the couple split, according to UK Daily Mail.
Neither Woods nor Johnston has publicly acknowledged that they are dating, and a former classmate of Johnston’s told RadarOnline that Johnston is just having a good time with Woods, nothing more.
“She sent a bbm to a mutual friend of ours saying she didn’t consider herself Tiger’s girlfriend. They were just having a good time hooking up,” Johnston’s classmate told RadarOnline. “She is a really nice girl, smart and super friendly. And she’s also a bit of a wild child. She definitely likes to have fun.”
That wild side got Johnston into a bit of trouble last October when she was arrested for drunk driving.
According to an Orlando Police Department report, she rear-ended a truck, causing it to flip on a Florida interstate. Johnston was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and had her mugshot taken at Orange County Jail.
