The Red Sox will be in Cleveland on Wednesday, but Fenway Park won't be empty.
Boston mayor Thomas M. Menino will be conducting his annual walkthrough of the ballpark Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Menino will be viewing the Year X improvements that were announced in October by Larry Lucchino, and Menino will also be highlighting some of the spring cleaning the city has completed in the Fenway neighborhood during the offseason.
The mayor will be among the first to sample new concession menu items, introduced by the Red Sox and Aramark, which will be available to the public when the Sox play their first 2011 home game versus the Yankees two days later on April 8.
The Year X improvements are capping off a 10-year renovation of Fenway Park that began in 2002 and include three high-definition video boards, new concession and merchandise stands at Gate D and a new ticket window, among other improvements.
