Bruins’ Missed Opportunities Translates Into Tough Loss in Game 1 Against Canadiens

Claude Julien summed up the Bruins' Game 1 loss quite simply in a postgame interview on Thursday night: "If you can't score goals, you're certainly not going to win hockey games."

The Bruins created plenty of opportunities in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Montreal Canadiens. They outshot their hated rivals 31-20, generating 18 scoring chances in the second period alone.

Unfortunately, the B's couldn't capitalize on one of those chances. The combination of Carey Price's outstanding efforts in net and the Bruins' missed opportunities translated into a 2-0 loss for Boston.

Granted, the B's still have plenty of time to regroup and come back at the Habs, but they were hoping to gain an early edge — especially on home ice.
