Amongst the 26,895 participants in the 115th annual Boston Marathon on Monday was Heidi Watney‘s brother-in-law, Ray Winter, who had never competed in the Boston race before.
Ray finished the marathon with a time of 3:05:55, running approximately seven-minute miles. On top of his incredible finish, he was also competing with a knee injury. It didn’t seem to hamper his spirit, though, as he was ready to sign up for the next marathon mere minutes after his finish.
“Let’s do it again,” Ray said. “Sign me up.
“This race is sick,” he added. “It’s unbelievable. I’ve never experienced anything like this.”
Check out Heidi and her family’s full post-marathon reaction in the video above.
