Jim Thome isn’t just a slugger with a big bat. He’s “a man with an ox in the batter’s box.”
In order to promote ticket sales for a series between the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays that is more than a week away, the Twins made an extreme commercial that features their star designated hitter dressed as a lumberjack while walking a blue ox a la Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox.
As he walks down the tunnel, Thome passes by two of his teammates. Michael Cuddyer spits out his water and Joe Mauer appears shocked as well.
In the end, Thome poses in his signature batting stance to point a delivery man in the direction of the clubhouse.
