Liverpool's Raul Meireles has had an impressive season, and now, the Reds midfielder is getting credit for it.

According to ESPN.com, Meireles has been named the ESPN PFA Fans' Player of the Year, as chosen by fans of the Premier League.

Meireles had a slow start for Liverpool after being signed by former manager Roy Hodgson. However, he regained momentum under the leadership of the Reds' new boss, Kenny Dalglish. Since the manager swap at Anfield, the midfielder has tallied five goals in six games, helping lift Liverpool to European contention.

The Portuguese midfielder had to beat out some tough competitors for the award. Samir Nasri (who was named PFA Player of the Month in October, December and January), Dimitar Berbatov (Player of the Month for September), Fernando Torres (Player of the Month for November) and David Luiz (Player of the Month for March) were also nominated for the award.

Meireles was named Player of the Month in February.
