The Bruins have a few unexpected candidates up for the Captain Morgan Goal of the week — a good sign as the team inches closer toward the playoffs as it shows more players getting involved in front of the net and contributing before the postseason begins.

Mark Recchi opened up the scoring for the Bruins against the Thrashers on Saturday, tallying his 14th goal of the season in traffic in front of the net. Positioned in front of the post, Recchi quickly converted Brad Marchand's pass from the corner and poked it past Ondrej Pavelec for the 1-0 lead.

Bruins newcomer Chris Kelly scored his first goal for the Black and Gold during Monday's matchup with the Rangers. The B's didn't come away with the outcome they were hoping for, but Kelly showed off his sniper skills when he tallied an impressive goal during a 2-on-1 attack midway through the second period to put the B's up 3-0.

Dennis Seidenberg scored his first goal since Feb. 18 on Wednesday against the Islanders, helping the Bruins to a close 3-2 victory at the TD Garden. The blueliner ripped a one-timer from the point off a crafty pass from Kelly in the middle and the puck found its way through Rick DiPietro's five-hole for the score.
