Let's open up Mock Draft XIII, the 13th and final edition of this weekly series.
1. Carolina Panthers
2010 Record: 2-14
Needs: Quarterback, defensive tackle, outside linebacker, guard, wide receiver, tight end, defensive end
The Pick: Auburn quarterback Cam Newton
Previous Picks: Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers, Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley, LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson
Final Analysis: I don't think Newton is worth the pick, but all signs point toward the Panthers hoping they've got a franchise quarterback at the top of this draft.
2. Denver Broncos
2010 Record: 4-12
Needs: Defensive end, cornerback, safety, outside linebacker
The Pick: Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus
Previous Pick: Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers
Final Analysis: There's no way the Broncos can screw this up with three potentially great defensive players on the board. Whether they go with Dareus, who fills their most dire need, Von Miller or Patrick Peterson, the Broncos will be feeling good about themselves.
3. Buffalo Bills
2010 Record: 4-12
Needs: Quarterback, tackle, defensive end, outside linebacker, tight end, cornerback, safety
The Pick: Texas A&M outside linebacker Von Miller
Final Analysis: This is the only pick in the draft that didn't change through my 13 mocks. The Bills are in desperate need for a disruptive player on the edge, and Miller will be that guy.
4. Cincinnati Bengals
2010 Record: 4-12
Needs: Defensive end, quarterback, running back, wide receiver, inside linebacker, safety
The Pick: Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green
Previous Picks: Auburn quarterback Cam Newton, North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn
Final Analysis: OK, I've finally broken. If I were running the Bengals, I'd go for Quinn, who was the pick here for all but two mocks. And despite how many people think the Bengals will add the draft's top receiver, what have the Bengals accomplished with a plethora of very good wide receivers in the last decade? Very little. Despite the fact that they should tinker with that philosophy, the Bengals' track record doesn't give me the confidence they'll lean toward the defensive need. Green could be a great player, for sure, and he could help Cincinnati part ways with Chad Ochocinco. He just isn't the right guy for this team right now.
5. Arizona Cardinals
2010 Record: 5-11
Needs: Quarterback, left tackle, guard, outside linebacker, cornerback
The Pick: LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson
Previous Pick: Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert
Final Analysis: It sounds like it could come down to Gabbert or the best defensive player on the board. Since Gabbert is a question mark and Peterson is a no-brainer, the front office should listen to Larry Fitzgerald's wishes.
6. Cleveland Browns
2010 Record: 5-11
Needs: Wide receiver, tackle, guard, defensive end, inside linebacker, outside linebacker, cornerback, safety
The Pick: North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn
Previous Pick: Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green
Final Analysis: This is the first time the Browns' pick has changed during the mock drafts, so it came down to Julio Jones and Quinn. New head coach Pat Shurmur is switching to the 4-3, and he'll need a franchise-caliber defensive end to help sell that transition. The Browns can then select from a host of wide receivers in the second round.
7. San Francisco 49ers
2010 Record: 6-10
Needs: Quarterback, outside linebacker, defensive tackle, defensive end, safety, wide receiver, cornerback
The Pick: Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert
Previous Picks: LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson, Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara
Final Analysis: To play this game again, if I were a GM, I wouldn't pick Gabbert in the top half of the first round, and maybe not in the first round at all. But it would make sense for new head coach Jim Harbaugh to identify a quarterback and develop him as he takes the reins of his franchise.
8. Tennessee Titans
2010 Record: 6-10
Needs: Quarterback, inside linebacker, defensive end, guard
The Pick: Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley
Previous Picks: Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert, Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus, Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley, Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers, North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn
Final Analysis: This is starting to look like an easy choice for the Titans. Has there ever been a draft when two top-10 players from the same school have been so heavily criticized, especially when the pair just won a national championship?
9. Dallas Cowboys
2010 Record: 6-10
Needs: Tackle, defensive end, guard, safety, cornerback
The Pick: USC tackle Tyron Smith
Previous Picks: Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus, Colorado tackle Nate Solder, Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley
Final Analysis: Smith would be the Cowboys' long-term answer, but they might want to make sure they've got someone else in place if Smith isn't ready to start as a rookie.
10. Washington Redskins
2010 Record: 6-10
Needs: Quarterback, right tackle, wide receiver, right guard, cornerback, safety, defensive end
The Pick: Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones
Previous Picks: Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, Auburn quarterback Cam Newton, USC tackle Tyron Smith, Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers
Final Analysis: The biggest rumor of the week insists the Redskins will trade up to take Blaine Gabbert. Since this mock doesn't include trades — which will kill my mock draft batting average — let's stick with Jones to Washington.
