Boston mayor Thomas M. Menino has signed off on a proposal that will allow Fenway Park to sell mixed drinks during baseball games, according to The Boston Globe.
Menino made the announcement after touring Fenway Park to see the annual renovations to the 99-year-old ballpark.
The rules will dictate that liquor only be served in five areas of the ballpark, and liquor sales will stop two hours after the game begins (beer will continue to be sold for another half-hour beyond that).
"We have a plan that works, and it's very similar to the one at the Boston Garden," Menino said, according to WBUR.org.
The TD Garden policy, to which Menino referred, states that no more than two alcoholic beverages are sold to a patron at one time, and that service can be limited to one drink per patron at the Garden's discretion.
The drinks aren't expected to be sold in the ballpark for another month or so, due to the process of acquiring licenses.
