A strange course of events turned tragic fast for Brazilian soccer fans at a state championship match between Goias and Vila Nova on Sunday.

According to Yahoo! Sports, a 19-year-old fan was shot and killed outside of Serra Dourada stadium (the home field of Goias) after the match. The match was interrupted for about 20 minutes when firefighters were brought to the field to clear out a swarm of bees that had surrounded the Goias goal.

After the match, a fight broke out between players on opposite sides, apparently due to celebration by the Goias side for reaching the finals with a 2-2 tie. The chaos spread to outside the stadium where the fan was shot.
