The injury to Giants young catcher Buster Posey was certainly unfortunate, but should it provide the impetus for rule changes in MLB?
Hall of Famer Jim Rice says no.
Rice was asked about Posey’s agent, Jeff Berry, who called for changes to the rules regarding catchers blocking the plate.
“We played through it,” Rice said on Red Sox First Pitch. “This is baseball. Since day one, it’s been this way. So why all of a sudden does an agent want to interfere with this?
“You’re not going to see this that often.”
