The end of Liverpool’s 2010-11 season means that it is again time for transfer speculation, and while potential targets Eden Hazard and Yann M’Villa have both opted to remain in Ligue 1 for the time being, Damien Comolli is far from without other options for bolstering the Liverpool midfield.

According to The People, Liverpool is interested in 26-year-old Brazil international Diego to fill the side’s playmaking role. Though his Wolfsburg squad was nearly relegated from the Bundesliga this season, Diego remains a hot commodity, valued at £15 million, and Chelsea is also interested in his services.

Likewise, Wigan playmaker Charles N’Zogbia, the subject of January transfer speculation, has also again become a Liverpool target, according to FootyLatest. Wigan’s escape from relegation on Matchday 38, however, will likely make the France international more expensive than he would’ve been had the Latics dropped down to the Championship. Now, he’ll likely cost upwards of £10 million.

He, however, isn’t the only Wigan midfielder of interest to Liverpool, as James McCarthy is also on the club’s radar. The 20-year-old, who is already a full Ireland international, enjoyed a very successful 2010-11 campaign at the DW and has been tipped for a move to a larger club.

While N’Zogbia and McCarthy’s club did manage to avoid relegation, West Ham United was not so fortunate, and as a result, Football Writers’ Player of the Year Scott Parker is now set to leave Upton Park. The 30-year-old Parker, though, is a target for nearly all of England’s big clubs, with Arsenal and Spurs also looking to gain his signature.
