Playing On Biggest Stage in Front of Family Will Bring Out Best in Milan Lucic Editor’s note: NESN.com and the Vancouver Sun are teaming up for Across Enemy Lines during the Bruins-Canucks series. Milan Lucic’s performance has been up and down this postseason. According to NESN.com’s Douglas Flynn, we should expect it to be “up” as he plays on the biggest stage in front of his family and friends in Vancouver.

After a breakthrough season offensively when Lucic led the Bruins with 30 goals and 62 points, much was expected this postseason,” Flynn wrote. “He’s shown an ability to elevate his game when it counts most throughout his career, turning in strong performances in each of his first three playoffs with Boston, not to mention his MVP performance in the 2007 Memorial Cup while with the Vancouver Giants.

“That tournament was held in Vancouver, as is just one of many special moments Lucic has enjoyed in his hometown, where he also starred with the Giants, was drafted by the Bruins in 2006 and scored the game-winner and added a pair of assists in Boston’s 3-1 win this February. Playing in front of his friends and family seems to bring out the best in Lucic, and after showing some signs of getting back on track against the Lightning, he appears primed for a vintage performance in the Final.”
