The Red Sox have announced that they will move the start time of Saturday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers to 7:10 p.m. in order to allow fans to enjoy the Bruins Stanley Cup Championship Parade.
The game, originally scheduled for 1:10 p.m., would have started around the time the rolling rally was set to wrap up in Copley Square. Mayor Thomas Menino, in an effort to "minimize congestion caused by large crowds anticipated for two major sporting events in the City of Boston," made the request.
The parade begins at TD Garden at 11:00 a.m. and will snake its way to Copley Square.
By moving the game, fans can catch the parade and still attend the game, or at least watch both on TV.
The Red Sox also plan to honor the Bruins' Stanley Cup Championship victory prior to Sunday's game against the Brewers.
Gates at Fenway Park will open at 5:40 p.m. Saturday with a limited opening on Yawkey Way at 5:00 p.m. NESN's pregame coverage begins at 6:00 p.m.
