Quick, what’s the worst part of the NFL lockout? No, it’s not the chance that we’ll lose multiple precious Sundays. Rather, the worst part of there being absolutely no football is that absolute certainty that the Brett Favre conversation would arrive at some point. And it has.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was former Cowboys executive Gil Brandt throwing stuff at the wall and seeing if it would stick when he said he thought Favre might be interested in a comeback. Later Wednesday, though, former teammate and friend Ryan Longwell said that the veteran quarterback is happy with retirement.

“I talk to him at least once a week,” Longwell told FOX Sports North. “We are good friends. He is doing great; his family is going great. He is really excited about not having any questions about whether he is coming back or not, there is no doubt. He is doing really well.”
