David Ortiz and Kevin Gregg both began serving their reduced three-game suspensions on Monday night. But the two players differ in how they feel about the league's disciplinary action.
Ortiz said that he was wrong for charging the mound against Gregg and the Orioles on Friday, June 8, at Fenway. The Sox DH said that he just wants to get the suspension over with and move on with the season.
Gregg, on the other hand, is displeased with the league's suspension, even though it reduced each player's sentence to three-games from four. He said that while he's moving on, Ortiz came at him twice during the altercation.
NESN's Tom Caron and Dennis Eckersley discussed how the bad blood between the two teams could stem from Buck Showalter's comments about the Sox during spring training.
