Dustin Pedroia is on a tear that is reminiscent of his 2008 MVP season. In fact, Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley said that Pedroia is the most confident player he has ever seen.
Eckersley said he is most impressed with the amount of energy that Pedroia brings to the table on a nightly basis. Even when he was struggling at the beginning of the season, Pedroia was making plays in the field, putting together good at-bats and making his presence felt in the clubhouse.
Even a near-2 a.m. finish in Tampa Bay on Sunday couldn't suppress the gritty second baseman's energy, as he went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs on Monday night in the series opener against the Orioles.
To hear what else Eckersley had to say about Pedroia's impact on the Sox lineup, check out the video above.
