This season, though, NFL fans and HBO subscribers will have to go without the network's hit show Hard Knocks, which has given its fans an inside look at a NFL team's training camp.
HBO said the uncertainty of the lockout "made it impractical for a team to commit" to the show.
The Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are teams that reportedly turned down the opportunity during the lockout.
Last season, the show took off as it followed Ryan and his larger-than-life personality while focusing on the New York Jets.
Show producers said the series is set to return next season.
The Ravens, Cowboys, Chiefs, Bengals and most recently the Jets have been focused on the show, which started in 2001 covering Baltimore.
On Aug. 31, the show will air a 10th anniversary look back at previous seasons.
"We know football fans are hungry for compelling NFL programming and we think they'll love the 10th anniversary special," said Rick Bernstein, executive producer for HBO Sports.
