Colby Rasmus was meant to be the up-and-coming face of the franchise for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was supposed to be the yin to Albert Pujols' yang.
But that plan may fall to the wayside, and fast.
Danny Knobler of CBS Sports tweeted the "Cards now appear to be shopping Rasmus widely."
Knobler further reports that the Washington Nationals "had scout in STL [Monday] night."
The San Francisco Giants are also reportedly interested in the center fielder.
The 24-year-old has struggled at the plate this year. He is hitting .245 with 11 home runs and only 40 RBIs.
