Breathe easy, Red Sox fans.

There is and can only be one Red Sox player named Nomar, and after the Rangers signed an international phenom of that first name Saturday, that will not change.

According to ESPN.com, Dominican outfielder Nomar Mazara, 16, was signed by the Rangers Saturday, and his deal was a record-breaker. The Rangers will pay Mazara $5 million in bonus money, which broke the record previously held by Athletics pitching prospect Michael Ynoa. Ynoa, also from the Dominican Republic, received a bonus of $4.25 million from the A's in 2008.

The Red Sox were reportedly in the hunt for the 6-foot-5 power-hitting Mazara prior to his deal with Texas. The Blue Jay's and the A's also showed interest.
