It's one of the easiest unwritten rules of baseball to remember: don't show up the pitcher.
Francisco Cervelli was accused of breaking that rule after hitting his third career home run on Tuesday night. John Lackey found him guilty and sentenced him to a fastball in the ribs his next time at the plate.
Both benches emptied, but that seemed to be it. No harm, no foul.
But then, Cervelli was noticably excited after Darnell McDonald struck out with the bases loaded in a key situation.
Many of NESN Nation's Twitter followers were up in arms and demanding retribution, but after already plunking the Yankees' catcher, Nate Hinchey isn't sure there's a need for anything else.
