NESN's Jack Edwards said that players in clubhouses across Major League Baseball are usually aware of what's going on in the Little League World Series at this time of year.
During some morning Little League baseball on Tuesday, NESN viewers were able to see Andover, Mass., pick up a 5-3 win over Yarmouth, Maine, and Fairfield, Conn., cruise past Cumberland, R.I., 3-0.
Michael Reilly pitched very well in Andover's win, while also driving a ball off the fence in right during the fourth inning, which put the team on top for good.
For Fairfield, it was Eddie Schwartz who pitched well and provided an offensive spark. While Schwartz was busy twirling a shutout against Cumberland, he also hit a monstrous home run to left, which NESN's Ken Ryan said might have been the furthest he's ever seen a Little Leaguer hit a ball.
