The Newark, Del., team has historically seen the most East Region Tournament appearances out of all competing teams. That experience won’t be of any use, though, considering the team’s last appearance was back in 1992. Still, Delaware will look to become the second team in state history to make the Little League World Series.

After dominating the district tournament, Newark began the state tournament with a 4-1 loss. The team would persevere and win their next three contests to clinch a birth in the East Region tourney. In those three wins, Newark outscored its opponents 32-8.

Of the 12 players on the roster, seven have seen action of the mound. Through the district and state tournament, the team allowed three runs or less in five of their eight games. Despite the occasional offensive boom, the team will rely heavily on the pitching staff in order to advance.

Tournament Record: 7-1

Players: Alex Barker, Andrew Delpercio, Clayton Hansen, Brandon Hoeflinger, Nick Jones, Chris Ludman, Danny Miller, Brennan O’Quinn, Daniel Ryerson, Matthew Theodovakis, Dannie Weaver, Aaron Weber
Manager: Nick DiMartine
