Football season is just around the corner, and excitement and anticipation for one of the game's best rivalries is driving ticket prices for two Super Bowl contenders.

The Patriots and Jets have had some wild — albeit brief — offseasons once the lockout was lifted. Not surprisingly, ticket prices are seeing an increase for the team's two matchups as both rabid fan bases eagerly anticipate the chance to battle for AFC East supremacy.

SeatGeek.com, a website that specializes in analyzing the secondary ticket market,  reports that ticket prices for the teams' two regular season tilts are seeing a bump in prices in the past couple of weeks.

A lot of that stems from the fact that fans are excited that football itself is back, but expectations are high in both markets after impressive offseasons for both teams.

In just the last week, the average ticket prices for the Oct. 9 showdown of the two teams at Gillette Stadium have increased $23. For the Nov. 13 matchup at the New Meadowlands, ticket prices have seen a $14 jump.
