Carlton Fisk was determined to do everything he could to make sure his 12th inning hit stayed fair — even attempting to use his arms to coax the ball to the right.
The unforgettable image of Fisk waving his arms to the right, and enticing the ball to do the same, is ingrained in the minds of Red Sox fans who witnessed Boston stave off elimination by defeating the Reds 7-6 in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series.
