The Red Sox needed a heroic performance to overcome an 3-0 deficit during the 2004 ALCS. They got that performance in Game 6, as starter Curt Schilling, fresh off having a tendon stitched to his right ankle, pitched a gem. Schilling earned the win despite blood soaking through his sock throughout his outing.
