Tammi Piermarini made some racing history on Monday at Suffolk Downs when she became just the fifth female jockey to win 2,000 races.
Piermarini rode Sugar Trade to what was her second win of the day to accomplish the historic milestone.
It was only fitting that Piermarini accomplished the feat at Suffolk Downs, though. The Amesbury, Mass., native has now picked up 1,586 of those 2,000 races there.
