The Patriots have to hope their disastrous night in Detroit doesn't have long-term implications.

Wide receiver Wes Welker stayed in the locker room at halftime after suffering a neck injury during the Patriots' final offensive play of the second quarter.

Tom Brady's pass for Chad Ochocinco along the left sideline was intercepted by safety Ricardo Silva, and Welker planted Silva with a tackle on the return.

Welker sat on the bench by himself for the final minute of the second quarter, and it didn't appear as if he was receiving any medical attention. However, the Patriots announced he suffered the neck injury, and his return was questionable.
