Which Athlete With New England Ties Should Throw Out a First Pitch at Fenway Park?

With all the Europeans and Australians winning major championships lately, many of us in the states had almost forgotten there were still American golfers on the PGA Tour in Tiger Woods' absence.

Thankfully, Keegan Bradley reminded New Englanders they have a native son who can swing the irons when he not only won the PGA Championship, but posted a photo of the Wanamaker Trophy with a Red Sox hat on top.

For all Bradley's skills with a "pitching" wedge, why not have the Vermont native and Hopkinton, Mass., High School alum chip the first pitch at Fenway Park? Just make sure to put down a mat to prevent a divot on the infield.

If Bradley's unavailable, there's a youngster from Fairfield, Conn., who could throw out a first pitch the old-fashioned way. In fact, Eddie Schwartz could flat-out bring it.

Schwartz is the Fairfield Little Leaguer who pitched a shutout against Cumberland and hit a home run in the New England region tournament. Rumor has it he'd also be available to pinch hit if the Red Sox need a quality bat off the bench.

Of course, the Sox could also go traditional and have a new face to the region like Chad Ochocinco or Albert Haynesworth give a toss. Ochocinco could bring his new roommate.
