Bruins Sign Defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk to One-Year Contract Extension

The Bruins announced on Friday that defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk has been signed to a one-year contract extension. 

Bodnarchuk, 23, has spent the past three seasons with the Providence Bruins. In the 2010-11 season he set professional career highs in games played (75), assists (15), and points (16) for the P-Bruins.

In 2009-10, the defenseman made his NHL debut with Boston and appeared in five NHL games. Also that season, he registered five goals and 10 assists in 70 games with the P Bruins en route to being named the Providence Bruins Best Defenseman.
