Prior to Wednesday's game, Dustin Pedroia told NESN's Heidi Watney to tell everyone to relax. He must've known that he and the rest of the Red Sox offense would break out in a big way against the Blue Jays.
Pedroia, who had four hits (including two home runs) and five RBIs, totaled 14 bases on Wednesday. He led an offensive onslaught by the Sox, which included 18 runs on 18 hits. The Sox even put together a seven-run eighth inning to seal the deal.
After the game, Pedroia spoke about the Sox offense and Tim Wakefield's 200th career victory. He said that Wakefield's been a great teammate and praised the kind of person that he is.
