Leigh Bodden, Dan Connolly Return to Practice Field for Patriots

FOXBORO, Mass. — Cornerback Leigh Bodden, right guard Dan Connolly and offensive lineman Ryan Wendell all returned to practice for the Patriots, who were also missing eight players during the first session of the regular season.

Wide receiver Taylor Price, running back Stevan Ridley, cornerback Kyle Arrington, running back Shane Vereen, linebacker Jeff Tarpinian, right tackle Sebastian Vollmer, defensive end Mark Anderson and linebacker Jermaine Cunningham missed Monday's practice, which was held in shorts and shells.

Bodden had been absent since the Patriots' second preseason game against the Buccaneers on Aug. 18

Guard Brian Waters also debuted at practice after signing with the Patriots over the weekend.

Eight Patriots also changed their numbers after the mass of roster cuts: Arrington (changed from No. 27 to 24), cornerback Antwaun Molden (36 to 27), running back Eric Kettani (44 to 36), Vereen (29 to 34), Tarpinian (48 to 53), safety Sergio Brown (38 to 31), defensive lineman Gerard Warren (62 to 98) and safety James Ihedigbo (43 to 44).
