Red Sox' 2004 World Series Win Beats Bruins' Stanley Cup, While Bobby Orr Continues to Steamroll Competition There are certain decisions that nobody should have to make, and voting for the Red Sox' 2004 World Series win against the 2011 Bruins Stanley Cup victory is at or near the top of that list.

That, however, was the question posed in the semifinals of Boston's Greatest Sports Moment. Though the more recent events have often had the upper hand in these matchups, fans picked the '04 breaking of the curse over the Cup.

It was a tight race, though, as the Bruins did garner 41 percent of the vote.

On the other side of the bracket, Bobby Orr's goal continued to roll right through the competition, as it beat Dave Roberts' slide by a 61-39 margin. It was the tightest race of The Goal's journey, as he received an average of 79 percent in his first four BGSM matchups.
