Tim Wakefield Earns Amica Pitcher of the Week Honors After Posting 200th Career Win After losing three games to the Blue Jays and getting swept by the Tampa Bay Rays, the Red Sox were watching their wild card lead shrink. After suffering five straight losses, which included a subpar performance by one of Boston's best, Jon Lester, the Red Sox needed something to stop the bleeding.

Boston veteran Tim Wakefield provided that something. Wakefield's 200th career win was Boston's first win of the week and just their second against Toronto in seven games this month. Tim Wakefield wasn't perfect — he gave up five runs through six innings, but it was enough for the Red Sox as the Boston bats destroyed Toronto with 18 runs.

And it's not every day that you win your 200th game at home and snap a five-game losing streak in the process.

Wakefield, who has taken on a variety of roles for the Red Sox this season, has appeared in 31 games and holds an ERA of 5.13. He is 7-6 on the season.
