Tom Brady Expresses Regret for Making Joke About Fans Drinking Before Sunday's Game If the PC Police are among your biggest pet peeves, you may not want to read any further.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady caused a bit of a stir last week when he advised fans to start drinking early for the Patriots-Chargers game on Sunday, which started at 4:15 p.m. ET. The offhand comment brought about a wide range of reactions, and Brady was later forced to offer a bogus "clarification" that he just wanted fans to remain hydrated.

Though Brady can pretty much say whatever he wants with the way he's playing football, he did express regret in his weekly appearance Monday morning on WEEI's Dennis and Callahan Show.

"I hope there was nobody that was, you know, drinking irresponsibly," Brady said. "I was trying to just make a very subtle joke. For a guy that doesn't even drink — me — it gets a lot of attention. I think that I won't joke like that anymore. That wasn't the best thing for me to say, and I won't ever do that again."
