Theo Epstein turned the Red Sox from cursed losers to annual contenders.

The Red Sox and Cubs made the reportedly inevitable official on Friday night when the two clubs announced that Epstein was leaving Boston to become the president of baseball operations in Chicago. Esptein’s era in Boston will be remembered by most for producing a curse-snapping, top-of-the-line franchise.

How did he do it? Smart moves and great draft picks, of course.

Among his many moves, Epstein shipped off fan-favorite Nomar Garciaparra, signed Daisuke Matsuzaka and brought aboard David Ortiz. He also was responsible for drafting Jonathan Papelbon, Clay Buchholz, Dustin Pedroia and Jacoby Ellsbury. To see a list of his top 10 moves, click below.
