Bruins Will Lose to Flyers in Playoffs, Penguins Will Capture Stanley Cup, According to EA Sports NHL 12 Simulation The Boston Bruins won't be able to repeat last year's magic, if the computers over at EA Sports are to be believed.

After simulating the 2011-12 season using its NHL 12 video game, EA Sports is predicting that the Pittsburgh Penguins will raise the Stanley Cup after defeating the Chicago Blackhawks in six games.

Unfortunately for the Bruins, the game predicts a first-round exit in the playoffs for the defending Stanley Cup champions at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers.

EA Sports is predicting that the Canucks will once again capture the President's Trophy, but also expects the Blackhawks to beat them in the conference finals in a seven-game series. Ultimately, the game predicts that Sidney Crosby will only miss 17 games and lead the Penguins to another Stanley Cup.

The predictions from the NHL video game franchise have been pretty spot-on in the past. Last year, it succesfully predicted Boston and Vancouver meeting in the Stanley Cup Final and the year before that it correctly predicted a Blackhawks win.

Despite this news, however, all 29 NHL teams not named the Pittsburgh Penguins have not given up on winning the Stanley Cup this season.
