Mark Herzlich has defied the odds for much of his football-playing career, so overcoming challenges is nothing new to him. His latest challenge is a testament to the hurdles he cleared in the past.
Herzlich famously overcame cancer while playing linebacker at Boston College. His journey back to football has been well-documented, but just returning to football wasn't enough for Herzlich. He defied the odds again when he signed with the New York Giants as undrafted free agent earlier this year.
He now finds himself trying to earn more playing time with the Giants, a challenge that he is of course meeting head on.
The CBS show 60 Minutes will profile Herzlich on Sunday, Oct. 30. The episode is slated to air at 7 p.m., although it will almost certainly be pushed back because of CBS' slate of NFL games.
