Rio Ferdinand and Anton Ferdinand Refuse John Terry's Attempts to Contact Them About Racism ScandalBrothers Rio Ferdinand and Anton Ferdinand rejected John Terry's attempts to discuss his alleged use of a racial slur towards Anton Sunday, proving that blood is thicker than water. ESPN reports that the Ferdinand brothers are upset at the Chelsea captain.

"The depth of the pair's anger towards Terry was clear, though they reiterated that they are not yet prepared to comment publicly" the report says.

The Manchester United Star and his brother snubbed Terry despite "his frantic attempts to speak with them."

Terry denies directing a racial slur toward Anton during Sunday's game between Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers.

Terry and Rio –- the elder of the two Ferdinand brothers –- are longtime teammates on England's national team. Tension between them will undoubtedly cause division in an England dressing room.

A lack of unity among players has been cited as a reason for its failure to challenge for international honors, despite boasting a squad full of English Premier League stars.

England plays Spain and Sweden on Nov. 12 and 15 and both are expected to be included in the squad.

The Daily Mirror reports that Terry released a statement regarding the incident to Press Association Sport on Sunday. It concludes with Terry saying, "I am the proud captain of one of the most internationally diverse teams in the Premier League and I absolutely believe that there is no place for racism in sport and indeed in any walk of life."

Queens Park Rangers met with Anton Ferdinand about the incident on Monday. The English FA launched an inquiry into the allegations as well. Neither the club nor the governing body have released an official statement.
