Tevez partnered with Argentine professional golfers Sebastian Fernandez and Andres Romero to win the Buenos Aires Grand Prix. He has refused to return to Manchester City after taking an unauthorized trip to Argentina on Nov. 7.
"He did not say anything about his problems with his club," Fernandez said, "but I was struck by the peace he had … He plays golf very well."
Despite his omission from the Argentina squad for its recent World Cup qualifiers at Bolivia and Colombia, Tevez went home and has been absent from City practices and games ever since.
At one point, club officials could not reach him. His agents have since been in contact with both the club and player as they hope to work out a solution.
Since joining City in the summer of 2009, the 27-year-old international has gone from darling to demon in the eyes of City supporters. He was club captain and a key player in his first two seasons — scoring 23 and 20 league goals — despite publicly complaining of homesickness.
Tevez submitted transfer requests on a number of occasions, but City has been unable to find a buyer that is willing to meet its price for the player. He has only made five appearances for the current league leaders this season. His refusal to warm up during a Sept. 27 UEFA Champions League game sparked a bitter conflict with manager Roberto Mancini.
It is possible that he will be sold during the winter transfer window that opens in January.
