“He’s had to explain she is just a fan who had sent him some pictures and that he made a mistake by sending them on instead of removing them,” a Mirror source said.
“He is embarrassed about the whole thing and is particularly mortified at passing the email on to Irina.
“But he has done nothing wrong and luckily Irina hasn’t confronted him about it.”
The Dutch female fan somehow got the Real Madrid star’s email address and sent him five semi-naked pictures. Instead of deleting them, Ronaldo accidentally hit the forward button.
The pictures went to his fiancée Shayk, his family and close friends. Kim Kardashian, singer Pixie Lott and former Big Brother star Imogen Thomas were among the recipients.
Shayk doesn’t worry about incidents such as these. It’s all part of the noble struggle that comes with dating a world-famous athlete.
“Irina knows dealing with other girls vying for his affection goes with the territory of being on the arm of a footballer like Cristiano,” the source added.
The 25-year-old Shayk has her fair share of admirers as well. The supermodel has appeared on Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue since 2007. She has also appeared in Victoria’s Secret.
The famous pair has been dating since April 2010 and plan to marry in July.
