David Ortiz, POPchips to 'Play Ball' With Dogs From Animal Rescue League of Boston on Nov. 15Big Papi, meet big puppy.

That will likely be the exchange come Nov. 15.

Earlier this year, David Ortiz and POPchips asked fans what “They would do with their Big Papi?” Now, Big Papi has selected the Animal Rescue League of Boston as his charity of choice, so on Nov. 15, Ortiz will play ball with the dogs of the rescue league.

“I’m honored to have just won the MLB Roberto Clemente Award for charitable giving, and excited to show my dedication to a cause close to my fans’ and my own heart by volunteering with the Animal Rescue League of Boston,” said Ortiz. “Charity has always been a big priority for me.”

POPchips will give the first 50 attendees who adopt an animal on Nov. 15 a doggie bag that will include a collar to identify their new pet, a month’s supply of POPchips and an autographed Ortiz photo.

“We are happy to help give the animal rescue league’s furry friends some quality time with big papi,” explained POPchips co-founder Keith Belling. “It is important to us to find exciting ways to give back to our communities.”
