Tim Thomas has collected two Vezina Trophies in the last three years. But at age 37, he's far from the youngest to ever bring home the award. That honor belongs to Tom Barrasso.
Barrasso, a native of Stow, Mass., won the Vezina Trophy at age 18 in 1984 as a member of the Buffalo Sabres. He compiled a 26-12-3 record, along with a 2.84 goals against average, and also received the Calder Trophy as the league's top rookie. By doing so, he became the third player to win both awards in the same season.
Barrasso debuted with the Sabres on Oct. 5, 1983, at which point he became the youngest goalie to play in and win a game since Harry Lumley nearly 40 years before. In fact, he had been out of high school for less than six months at the time.
