Kim Kardashian blindsided her husband, NBA forward Kris Humphries, by filing for divorce last week — a little over two months after their wedding. Kardashian was on a brief promotional trip to Australia, but she headed to Minnesota overnight Saturday to visit her soon-to-be ex-husband, Us Weekly reports.
Kardashian reportedly flew commercial and traveled with a male companion. While there’s no indication Kardashian intends to change her mind about the divorce, Humphries remains hopeful that the two can reconcile their relationship.
“I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents,” Humphries told Us Weekly on Thursday. “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
But from Kardashian’s comments on her blog earlier in the week, it seems like the wedding was doomed from the start.
“I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn’t get off when now I know I probably should have,” she said. “I got caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn’t know how to and didn’t want to disappoint a lot of people.”
And as if things aren’t bad enough for Humphries, the NBA forward is still dealing with losing hundred of thousands of dollars in an investment scheme by a man who attended his wedding.
