Who knew that so many NHL rookies were artists?
Well, not quite.
A few rookies such as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Cody Eakin, Gabriel Landeskog and Blake Geoffrion showed their creative edge in some sketches discovered by Deadspin.
As part of Panini America's Sketch Cards series, the players were handed pieces of paper at the NHLPA's Rookie Showcase and told to draw something. That explains why the pieces ranged from spaghetti and Swedish meatballs (Landeskog's favorite pregame meal) to a picture of someone fishing.
They aren't any Pablo Piccaso pieces of work, but they will be available for collectors at the Expo's wrapper-redemption program.
