Terry Francona will almost certainly get back into managing baseball. After a forgettable finish to the 2011 season and his Red Sox tenure, it would have made sense if Francona wanted to take some time off.
However, Francona interviewed with the St. Louis Cardinals in regards to their managerial vacancy opened up by Tony La russa's retirement.
Francona's interest in the opening came as something of a surprise to NESN's Jerry Remy who thought Francona may take some time off before returning to managing. Remy spoke with The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo about it on Red Sox Hot Stove Live.
